Air China ist die staatliche Fluggesellschaft der Volksrepublik China mit Sitz in Peking und Basis auf dem Flughafen Peking. Sie ist Mitglied der Luftfahrtallianz Star Alliance. Sie ging als eine von sechs neuen Fluggesellschaften aus der 1988 aufgelösten CAAC  hervor und hatte für Langstreckenflüge zunächst das Monopol. Die anderen fünf Gesellschaften waren für Inlandsflüge und den Verkehr im asiatischen Raum zuständig. Air China ist neben China Eastern, China Soutrhern und Hainan Airlines eine der wenigen chinesischen Fluggesellschaften, die Ziele in Asien, Australien, Europa, Nordamerika und SDüdamerika anfliegen. In Deutschland werden Frankfurt, München und Düsseldorfangeflogen.

                                                                CAAC, which was dissolved in 1988, and initially had the monopoly for long-haul flights. The other five

                                                                companies were responsible for domestic flights and traffic in the Asian region. Air China is one of the

                                                                few Chinese airlines serving destinations in Asia, Australia, Europe, North America and South America,

                                                                along with China Eastern, China Southern and Hainan Airlines. In Germany Frankfurt, Munich and

                                                                Düsseldorf are served.
